"ASCAP I Create Music Week" continued to gain momentum with 24th ASCAP Annual Pop Music Awards, held last night at the Kodak Theatre. There was major energy in the room from the over 850 songwriters, recording artists and music industry executives in attendance to honor the songwriters behind some of today's most popular music. The night's biggest honor - the ASCAP Founders Award - went to Melissa Etheridge. Check out more details and photos here.
A portion of the group attending the Pop Awards included several hundred music creators from all stages of their career, in town for the second annual ASCAP "I Create Music" EXPO. The EXPO kicked off this morning with a moving keynote by ASCAP President and Chairman and acclaimed lyricist, Marilyn Bergman. There's much more to come over the next three days of the EXPO.
